Abstract.
Functionalism is one of the main theoretical perspectives employed in the interpretation of ceramic technology.
In this research, I briefly expose the results of a techno-functional analysis of a prehistoric ceramic assemblage by studying the relationship between the paste and shape of the vessels.
The lack of functional specialization casts doubt on the utility of functionalism as an approach for examining the significance of the technological choices concerning hand-made pottery.
