ARQUEOLOGIA IBEROAMERICANA (Arqueol. Iberoam.) is a double-blind peer-reviewed, open access international scientific journal devoted to the archaeological and archaeometric study of the prehistoric, protohistoric, ancient, and historical societies from Latin America, Iberia, and the rest of the world.
It is published online, in continuous publication, two times a year (June, December) in PDF electronic format and contains research and theoretical articles on archaeology and archaeometry (research article, research report, research note, method article, review article), debate note.
Spanish and English are the primary languages. Other languages, especially Portuguese, are welcome.
Double-blind peer-reviewed.

Articles will be published immediately on acceptance.
Review Period
The review period shall never be less than 14 days.
MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION
Manuscripts submitted cannot have been previously published in any form or language.
Authors should send manuscripts, including illustrations (JPEG, TIFF or BMP) at the best possible resolution, in electronic format (Word, OpenOffice). They should also enclose a
short curriculum vita, a brief abstract of their paper and keywords.
All references should appear in the text or in footnotes as follows: (author year: page(s)).
Tables should be sent as illustrations, i.e., in graphical format (or in original format). Do not scan black and white images as if they were photographs.
Acceptance is not guaranteed. All papers must be peer-reviewed by the Advisory Board.
Digital proofs will be sent to authors a few days before final publication, but only minor corrections will be accepted.
MAXIMUM LENGTH
The usual maximum length of manuscripts should not exceed 4,000 words & 8 figures.
Other formats: Research Reports (2,000 words & 4 figures), Research Notes (1,000 words & 2 figures, 2 academic endorsements required, free of charge), Debate Notes (1,000 words & 2 figures, free of charge).
EDITORIAL POLITY
This publication is distributed freely over the Internet to achieve maximum dissemination. The journal, fully committed to the philosophy of open access to scientific knowledge, allows authors to archive all versions of their papers, personally or institutionally.
SELF-ARCHIVING POLITY
This publication allows authors to archive, personally or institutionally, all versions (accepted manuscript, preprint, published article) of their papers.

Under existing law, the author is the copyright holder, but the publishing rights holder of the journal is the Editor, who has signed a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Spain (CC BY 3.0) license in January 2011.
However, the Editor allows authors to retain the publishing rights without restrictions.
From the end of November 2023, Arqueología Iberoamericana will apply the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license to all its publications.
